Solved! Logitech headset microphone not showing up under the "recording" tab in sound settings

I recently purchased a Logitech G Pro Headset for my Dell Inspiron 5577 gaming laptop but I am unable to find the headset's microphone under the recording tab in sound settings.

The microphone itself definitely works as I am able to use it on other devices.

I have also reinstalled my sound drivers multiple times but still no luck.

When I open my sound settings under "playback" I am able to see that the headset is connected hence I can hear audio through it.

However, when I view the recording tab the only things I can see are the default microphone and the stereo mix.

This has been bothering me for a while know as using the built-in microphone can become static.

All the help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Are you certain the port you are connecting through is a dual input/output one? If not, then it won't work. Alas, on many laptops, even if they have an input/output it still can not work with many devices. The only fixes for that are to either replace the port (if it is a dual one) or to get a 3.5mm to USB adapter (they are very cheap) and connect that way. Personally I prefer the adapter method it seems to have much less issues.
