Logitech z506 plays all speakers during audio test but won't play through all speakers when playing music

Is there something i've done wrong? All plug ins are correct and software is up to date. Is there a setting i've missed?

Most music is only encoded in stereo so you will only get the front left and right speakers to work and possibly the sub if this is how your sound chip is configured.
