Hey Guys,

I'm headed to college and am in need of a laptop.

Planning to keep it budget friendly.... Not confirmed on the price... But will get back on that..

I will be using it for college so documents, Web and basic stuff.
I'm also a video editor, I do lots of projects in my spare time... So this needs to be good enough for that.
Mobility is a big thing which is why I'm going for a laptop.

I will also like to game on it. With games like NFS Rivals, Minecraft, and other Sims on decent frames not so much on Ultra settings.....

So I guess 4gb to 8gb ram
Intel Core i5 Processor
Nvidia GTX GeForce min 960m or 970m I guess

And brands I would prefer are Asus , Dell, Lenovo.
This is just optional but if the laptop isn't really heavy it would be nice

I'm open to more suggestions and help on coming down to the final choice.

Please do help out.
Thanks,

Cheers,
Blaze

Thanks for the responses guys....

I have decided on the budget... 650$ to 820$

This is kind of what is affordable for me right now... so we have to stick to this range maybe if its a tad off I will have to see if it is feasible.

What about these options?

1. ASUS K501LX-NB52 @ 750$
2. ASUS Laptop N551JK-MH71 @ 769$
3. Lenovo Y50 59425944 @ 800$

Also the Asus K series NB52 laptop has a Gtx 950M 2gb
But the Lenovo y50 has a Gtx 860M 2gb
Which is better?

I would recommend the ASUS if it were under $650 compared to the Lenovo's $800 price. You can always add an ssd, the same can't be said for upgrading the CPU and GPU. i7 4720HQ vs i5 5200u is not even a contest, the 860m will perform better in gaming, especially paired with the quad i7. The SSD is nice and all, but shouldn't justify the purchase and can be added later. If you game, get the Lenovo. If you don't, get the Lenovo.
