looking for a high efficiency gaming laptop

As title says i need a good gaming laptop in the $600-900 range but it also needs to draw as little power as posible due to my job as a trucker and the limits of semi batterys keeping a laptop charged.

I would prefer most games to play at least 40 fps on medium (save true powerhogs like bf4 for example), but im flexable to a point on this as i tend to play games like kerbal space program, banished, rust, and world of tanks as examples.

Any help would be welcome

Most laptops in that price range are either high power or low wattage, but not both.

The ideal for a low wattage gaming laptop would be something around an AMD A10 APU with a 128+ gb ssd instead of a hard drive. Those run around $1000 from a quick glance, and SSD's generally aren't available on lower models.

Are you will/able to install an SSD and operating system on your laptop? You could purchase a cheaper laptop and an SSD seperately if so.

I have no problems with that as i can build full desktop pc's quite easily and have replaced many a laptop hard drive im just not so good at picking out laptops as until now ive just never needed one for more then email and such and never a powersipper to boot

If you need it as soon as possible, my humble suggestion:

Lenovo Z50 (80EC000TUS) Notebook AMD A-Series A10-7300 ($559.99 @ Newegg)

Crucial M500 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($79.99 @ Newegg)

If you can wait, the more powerful FX-7600P is expected to start showing up in laptops in the U.S. in the next few months. The 7600P is basically an "A12", why AMD decided to rename their top-end APU is beyond me.

Another option in a few months would be the FX-7500. The 7300 and the 7500 are 20w parts, while the 7600p uses 35w (the extra 15w go mostly to a beefier GPU.)
