I'm looking for a high end gaming laptop with the best GeForce GPU possible that also supports the ATA disk password command in the BIOS, making it possible to use FDE on an SSD. The problem is many notebook motherboards seem to lack the TPM chip and/or the BIOS support; those that do have it are often enterprise-class models that don't have good GPU's.

The ASUS N550JV-DB72 seems to fit the bill; does anyone else know of other options? I heard from MSI that they'll be releasing something in Q3 that will work but I'm hoping to find something sooner.

What is your budget? You could go Alienware if it is a little lofty. They have up to 2 880's in them. Not sure about the disk password command, but I would assume so as they are high end laptops. If worst comes to worst just call them.

I just checked the manual, they don't support the disk password just the admin & system passwords. Sadly, the machines with the really good GPUs don't ever seem to support the disk password.

If they have a PCI buss (I.E. the GPU is not soldered to the MOBO) you could call Razer and see if it can be exchanged later.

I contacted Razer a couple months ago, unfortunately their notebooks don't support ATA disk password & TPM either.

Shoot. Dont know what to say to that.
