Hello,

I am eyeing this as a gaming laptop. Its at the top of my price range. I dont need high end graphics but I do want it to be able to play the games such as old republic, skyrim, and gw2.

Will it do the trick ok.

You should be able to play many current games with medium quality.

I have the IdeaPad Y470 with the same CPU and slightly slower GT 550m. I have tested Crysis (a bit dated, but still one of more demanding games out there) on it and it can play it very well at medium settings. Frame rates typically range from 35FPS - 44FPS most of the time in the 2nd chapter, "Relic".

Setting graphics quality to high resulted in frame rates of 18FPS - 25FPS most of the time; if I remember correctly. Playable, but not desirable.
