I have been getting into playing fps shooters lately (bf4/cod/csgo) and have been playing somewhat competitively. I have noticed that my headphones are not up to snuff and I haven't been able to accurately hear where people are located. I currently use some off brand 15$ headphones and was wondering what my best bet for an upgrade would be. I have a portable mic that I can set up/ but would also be open to the convenience of a headset. Any recommendations for options under 60$ would be very helpful. Thanks!

I dont think you are going to get what you want or be satisfied with something you only pay $60 for. They simply will not give you the channel separation, surround sound or quality you probably want to be competitively.

I purchased the Tritton AX Pros for $170 and LOVE! them as I am very much a "sound whore".
My brother-in-law, who stays with us, purchased some virtual surround Turtle beaches for $100 for his system. He plays on my system when I am not playing just for the headphones.

Ultimately if I were you I would hold out longer and save up more to get a good quality set with fiber, independent speakers and amp (like the AX Pros). Provided you don't abuse them they will last years and the investment is well worth it.
