Making indoor videos for Youtube, what type of camera/camcorder/device should I get?

I plan to make some indoor videos of an educational nature with a whiteboard. I'm looking for advice for a basic camcorder/table/phone I should buy to do the job as simply as possible. I'm not too techie.

I wonder, do I need an external mic? I'm guessing not.

Start out by using the built-in mic. You can always add an external mic if necessary. You need a steady hand and slow panning when you shoot the video. For better quality videos I suggest a rigid tripod with a fluid head to avoid jerky videos.

^+1 Nothing to add except that I completely agree with Ubrales. Once you do a few of the videos then try an external mic and you will probably notice a difference in the quality of the audio.
