Is there a way to get rid of it? I was running anti-virus but that hasn't detected anything so I'm wondering what to do about it.

Solution
I recommend doing the following.

1) Power up your computer, and press and hold down the F8 key. You must do this before the Windows logo appears. This will take you into Safe Mode. Select Safe Mode with networking from that screen.
2) Uninstall any anti-virus program you now have installed.
3) Download BitDefender (anti-virus), and run it.

4) Download Malwarebytes and run it.

5) Download and run CCleaner.

6) Shutdown and restart.

Hi,

Boot in safe mode with networking

Goto bleepingcomputer.com

download and run: JRT==> rogukiller ==> adwcleaner ==> reboot

then malwarebytes .

if you have xp / windows 7 you can run a combofix as administrator

if the problem persiste might as well do backups and reinstall.
