[citation][nom]JOSHSKORN[/nom]What an awesome way to blow 750 bucks! Really, that's cool. That's how much NASA should be spending. I mean, come on. We know there's planets up there, we know that we can't live on the moon and Mars is too far for us to travel unless you plan on building a Star Trek Voyager. It ain't gunna happen. So what if there's life in other areas of the universe. What's spending money going to do? If they're going to wipe us out, it'll happen. and I'm sorry, NASA or not, we'll be screwed. Might as well just give the money to the poor.[/citation]

On a long enough timeline, these things will happen. Colonization of the moon would be possible during your lifetime (depending on how old you are), which will pave the way for a settlement on Mars (probably not in anyones lifetime reading this), but someday it will happen.

[citation][nom]ikefu[/nom]This is what NASA will be reduced to if the current administration has their way with the budget.[/citation](And many others said simular.)

How do so many people cite lies and no one ever calls them on it these days (aka 24h news). The President did axe the 1960's Tech Constilation program that was way over budget and behind schedule. And then he raised the total budget for NASA slightly. He did not slash NASAs budget.

NASA would receive $18.7 billion for the 2010 fiscal year under the budget proposal released by the White House on Thursday. That would be an increase from the $17.2 billion NASA received in 2008 and represents an overall boost of more than $2.4 billion for the space agency when coupled with the additional $1 billion it received in the recent economic stimulus bill.

this is great ///but was thinking that whether on a larger scale this thing would work or not....if we could send the cameras out there space and ..use high frequency transmitters to track there movements and we could also get some good unknown pictures of space...
