I have a Carver 2 channel with 8 ohm speakers and tried to hook up 4 oihm Magnepans, problem the 8 ohm way over powers the out of the 4 ohm. If I put a resistor in line to match the 8 ohm speakers will the total volume be cut in half or will it still crank like it does with the 8 ohm speakers? Thanks for any help or answers, Joe

What you are saying makes no sense.
However if you are running magnapans, you can hook ONE PAIR to the amplifier. That's ALL!
You cannot run magnapans and another pair of speakers at the same time from one amplifier. It will burn up.
Do not install any resistors, they will also burn up.
Magnapans are VERY inefficient speakers. They sound really good at a low volume. That is it and that is all. DO NOT try to crank the magnapans to a high volume, they melt. You have been warned.
