You should use a recovery software to recover all the data. You can RECUVA its one of the free, user friendly and well known application used for recovery purpose. And there are also other application available, you can use them if you want to.
Once you recovered data, you can use utilities to check the health of your card.
 


This is only true if the card is readable at all in the first place. OP said that the card isn't read at all on the computer. If indeed the disk doesn't appear anywhere (including RAW volume), even software like that will not recover it and the only choice for potential recovery is professional services (but even they might not be able to do anything).

OP, test out recuva, but if nothing shows there you will likely have to learn the hard way that card failures do happen and backups are more or less mandatory. Unless of course you want to pay >$1000 for file recovery at a professional data recovery center.
