Question metro phone compatibility

Hi
I am considering a samsung galaxy phone, it's originally a metro phone but it's been unlocked
I am not sure if this phone came out before metro was acquired by t-mobile or after or if that's even relevant
the location of this phone is 50 miles away so I want to be absolutely sure it's compatible with my carrier before I buy it
my carrier is t-mobile
do you foresee any problems? in terms of the bands that t-mobile uses or whatever?
will my internet work as soon as I insert my sim or I have to mess with apn settings?
I read somewhere metro phones have a lot of bloatware, can I remove them?
