Mic not visible on Windows 7

I recently acquired a new headset/microphone. It comes with three connected cables; two audio jacks for the headset and mic, and one USB. The headset portion works fine with no problems. I plugged in the microphone 3.5 MM and nothing shows up. I went to the control panel, sound, and recording sections and the only options there were microphone/Line-in, Microphone Array (Currently being used), and Rec. Playback. the headset mic doesn't show up and i get no notification when it is being plugged in. I don't think any other drivers are needed. It is a ProHT gaming headset.

Have you tried connecting it to your rear panel connector?
