Mic not workingon my dell laptop (vista)

my mic will not work since i reistalled my vista on my laptop!
i go to contol panel then sounds options and try and change it, but it just says no audio devices found when i try n select one or change it!

any ideas?

You'll probably have to reinstall the soundcard driver for it to work via Dell's support site.

and what drivers do i need? i tried to download nvidia drivers but after i downloaded it and opened it nothing happended?????????

Sound card driver, not a graphics or chipset driver. It should be something like Realtek.
