microphone device doesnt show up to set it as default device if i dont use the audio dongle

Hi,
I have a laptop with combo jack for headset and microphone.
I have bought a hyperx cloud 2 headset and if i dont use the audio dongle the microphone device doesnt show up in the audio control panel to set it as the default device. If i use the dongle i have no problems, but when I dont use the dongle i cant use the microphone
I tried with the latest realtek audio drivers and with microsoft audio driver too, same problem.
It shows just 1 audio device and thats the in built microphone from my laptop, but i wanna use the microphone from my headset coz the in built microphone is garbage

It sounds like something with the headphones. It may not be able to allow it to not use both. Strange as that may sound, they may just be wired that way.

I found the fix.
I went at the realtek's control panel and i double clicked on ANALOG Back Panel and I selected 'Headset', before was selected 'Headphone'

Ah hah. Yeah that would do it. Even though they seem the same, they really aren't. I am glad it got sorted!
