.mkv files have very low background noise only speech is audible

.mkv files have very low background noise only speech is audible when i play it in jet audio..
but it is fine when i play it in VLC...
I installed Community Codec pack but to no avail??

If you are talking about audio that you have recorded you may have a noise cancelling microphone, which would eliminate background noise. If this is not the case you may have the pitch settings wrong with in the program, I.E. the background noise is low, and the program settings have the bass turned right down.
