Monitor, PC, and Speakers

My son has an Alienware desktop computer. We also have a PS3 that I want to put in his room. I am thinking of buying him the Samsung 27" T27B350ND monitor. It has two HDMI in, an audio in, and component inputs.

I want to hook speakers up directly to the monitor (just computer speakers).

Would this work? My goal is to have the sound for the PC and the PS3 come out of the speakers that are connected to the monitor.

yes this would work. I have a friend who plugs in his alienware laptop, ps3 slim, and computer speakers into a similar dell monitor. Your son should be very happy with that monitor as well lol
