Motherboard Different than On Website?

Okay, so I had bought a Lenovo Flex 2 15 laptop a few years ago. I now want to upgrade my RAM and both Lenovo and Crucial say that I have 2 DIMM slots. However, after opening up the laptop, it looks like I only have 1 slot? Also, after looking up this motherboard, mine seems to be different than others, so I am utterly confused. Please help! Hi,

Have you tried removing the RAM that's already in your laptop? Normally RAM's are stack on top of each other, so please do check if there's another RAM slot under the other RAM.

Sure looks like that ^^ .... besides the Specifications say: "Memory
Up to 6.0GB PC3-12800 DDR3 SDRAM 1600 MHz"... And that maximum can only be filled with one 4GB module and one 2GB module... A system information program should tell for sure.

The model number is 20405. Thanks for all of the replies! The manual I found online says like 8 GB maximum so I am a bit overwhelmed.

Update: Speccy and CPU-Z both say I have an empty memory slot; anyone know where it is?

Well, if every website other than Lenovo say it supports up to 8GB, that must be a fact... I though Lenovo would know their own products better than anyone else but seems that they don't.

I does look like a single RAM slot... there is only one plastic protuberance in the slot (between STD & 449), that fills the notch in RAM modules... so there is only one slot.

See what HWiNFO says under "Memory" and also under Motherboard > SMBIOS DMI > Memory Devices > If the mobo was made to hold two modules, it should say Row 0 and Row 1, and also DIMM 1 & DIMM 2, and Memory Device with the module information and Memory Device with no information... And if it was made to hold a single RAM module it should say Row 0, DIMM 1, and "Memory Device" once.

Okay, it shows the RAM stick I plugged in under Memory in Row 0. However, it does show both a DIMM0 and DIMM1 under Motherboard as well as bank 1 and bank 2. So where is this mysterious second memory slot? xD

Well it's possible DIMM1 as well as ROW 2 are the slot contacts on the motherboard, or may be they are chipset programming only... so it's likely the second slot was never installed though it may have the provisions (contacts, etc) to receive a second RAM slot... but that may be next to impossible to do.
