After replacing the motherboard on a laptop (damaged by a drop), the mouse no longer works. The CD drive connects to the same component and works perfectly. Finding a damaged cable connecter, I replaced the mouse and the upper housing it's held in, only to find the problem persisted.
Laptop is an Acer Aspire 5810TZ.
I've already checked the function key combinations for disabling and reenabling the mouse. This version also has a quick button next to the mouse for enabling and disabling, and is non-functional alongside the mouse.
EDIT: After disassembling and reassembling several times, the mousepad disable light now flashes on and off as it's pressed, but the mousepad still does not work. Within Device Manager, the mouse is displaying a Code 24; This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed.
Device is present, connected properly. As for working properly, it's a brand new cover, and the drivers are installed.
