I'd like to move some photos from my old SD card to a larger new one, which is easy.

But I don't want to change the "date modified" information.

Is this possible?

First off, why moving to a different SD card? These are not meant for long term storage.
(long term being 'longer than it takes to move to something permanent')

But, the MOVE function in Windows should do this.
I don't recommend MOVE vs COPY/PASTE, but there it is.

The photos are ones that my wife likes to carry with here on her phone. Her SD card is full so they need moving to a bigger card.
All the photos have already been copied to our PC and also backed up by our NAS Drive.

I always use Copy/Paste (which is obviously why I'm getting the dates changed) and the reason is I don't particularly trust the Move command either.

Many thanks for the advice, I never realised the files were treated differently, but when I think about it "MOVE" means moving the existing file, but "COPY/PASTE" infers the creation of a new file, which would have a new Modified date.

Thanks again,

Paul
