Ms surface rt vs. ipad 3

I currently have ipad 3, and planning to switch to surface rt. is it worth it?
I'm getting tired of iOS and want to switch to windows 8.
I use my ipad for mostly entertainment at the moment but more of professional work
Like autocad and revit pretty soon.
What do you recommend?

If you're looking to autocad, etc...the Surface 2 is what you're looking for, not the RT.

That is actual Windows 8, instead of only what is available via the MS app store.

But if you are looking to actually create, a tabletish device is less than optimal.

You mean the Surface Pro right? The standard Surface 2 runs Windows RT. The Dell Venue 11 would also be a good suggestion as it runs full Windows for about 1/2 the cost of the entry model Surface Pro 2: http/www.dell.com/us/p/dell-venue-11-pro/pd?oc=ftcwd02h&model_id=dell-venue-11-pro
