MSI GE60 Upgrade - HELP?!

Hi all,

Hope you can help. Im a bit of a noob regarding upgrading software. So, I am looking to upgrade to main parts on my lappy.

1) I want to install a msata SSD (my laptop has a slot for one).
2) I want to upgrade my RAM from 8gb to 16gb.

Currently, my laptop is using- i5 processor, GT650 graphics card, 8gb ram, 500GB HDD.

I will attach some photos to help clarify -

I have done some quick research and found the 'Samsung 840 EVO msata' to be quite a good all round drive. http/www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/minisite/SSD/uk/html/about/SSD840EVOmSATA.html

So basically...

I need advice regarding compatibility of msata SSD and RAM which I could use in the laptop because I understand that there are different types?

So when looking for RAM, what variables must I look out for based on the image of the RAM I have shown in my laptop above? Or do I have to use the same one that I have.

Same goes for SSD msata, can I use any msata SSD? Or is there a specific type I should look out for.

I forgot to mention, I have 2 ram slots, so i dont need to get a 16gb ram, just another 8gb ram id imagine.
