Multiplayer Minecraft PE

I have minecraft on samsung galaxy tab 2 and my cousin has it on ipad mini.
We want to play it on multiplayer through Wifi . We are both connected to the same wifi but it wont work. His world is not showing up on my tablet. I have a huawei E586 mifi router. Is there some settings i have to change on the the router.
Ant suggestions greatly appriciated

I've had this same problem.

Try another router and see.

Are you sure the game has cross-platform support? As it is, it appears that you're trying something similar to trying to play a game between an xbox and a PC.
