I had to stress test my laptop over 25 times to diagnose an 'instant shutdown' problem. All 25 times, the laptop experienced that shutdown (either due to power-supply issue or heating issue) It doesn't happen anymore. My Question is, since I did so many tests and caused it to shutdown, will that have affected my motherboard or processor or some other component?
I read in another forum that when a stress test causes the heat or voltage to rise to dangerous levels the sensors trip the power supply off well before the tolerance limit of the motherboard.
1.Is it true for multiple tests?
2.Does it apply to all parts like processor, GPU etc.?
3. It used to shutdown within 10-20 mins of stressing. Last few days, the stressing caused it to shutdown within 30 secs. Surely this must mean that I have angered a component in some way and it will die on me as soon as warranty expires?!
Its working fine even under heavy use now, but has it affected some parts that might act up after a few months? If you can name which parts have been potentially affected, I will have them replaced while my system is still in warranty.
