Have a music centre, the radio plays fine but I cannot get a usb or an sd card or a cd to play, the Led states ' reading ' but just stays on constantly. Any suggestions?
The music centre is a GEN!US.
The usb lights up as if connecting and I can hear the CD turning but then nothing..
Any help would be appreciated.

Solution
You have much bigger problems with that "music centre". I would hate to say that, but you get what you pay for.
If you decide "dump" route - recycle it properly, not in your trash can.
Check the manual / specs for that "music centre"
- it might require USBs to be formatted special way, or no larger that XXX gb
- the CD might be just dirty, or playing music CDs only, or playing store-bought (no CD-R, CD-RW) only

Find out the smallest USB key you can find (eg 1gb or less), format it, put just a couple of songs (no folders), and try again.

Thanks Alabalcho for your reply.
I have tried a smaller USB (2 gb), to no avail.
It would seem that nothing is working apart from the radio, the cd I inserted is a 'store bought' cd, sd card is not being read and even the turntable does not revolve.
The music centre has only previously been used for a max of a couple of hours.
Any further info would be appreciated before I decide it's going to the dump!!
Thanks.
