my asus 27 monitor has terrible low volume. how do I connect remote speakers to it

asus vx279Q used as a spare tv in kitchen. thru cable box, but volume is very low.. want to run speakers directly from jack in back of monitor.. What are good speakers for this setup?

Monitors cannot drive non-powered speakers, you need a powered set. For kitchen setup, any $15 set from places like BestBuy / Walmart / GoodWill will do, just check how it is powered, and whether it has 3.5mm input.
