My asus k501 won't charge

My asus k501 will not charge. I have no idea wether it's the charger port or maybe I have a bad charger. I used to wiggle the charger around until it started charging again but that doesn't work anymore. Please help

1. Bad DC jack could be the problem
2. If your laptop can only turn on while the charger is plugged in without the battery, you need a new battery
