My Benq ew2440zh inbuilt speaker doesn't work.

I have a Gtx 750ti Graphics card with mini HDMI port.So i used my monitor through my Mini(Male) to HDMI(Female) converter. Changed all my sound settings to Benq Hdmi audio....but no sound...Only monitor's headphone jack works.....need help urgently...Please Help///////

I don't see anywhere on the specs of that monitor where it states it has speakers.
