My new pavilion laptop has a fault, I'm sure it is easy to fix and may be connected to Windows 10. Basically I can key in my pin and then the keyboard stops working. I can type away but nothing appears onscreen. Solution please

Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help before taking it back.

If all these steps will not work that means you can take it back since a new laptop shouldn't be acting up like that.

Try and find a key with a picture of a keyboard on it (usually one of the function keys, could be F5) and hit that (might need to click that and shift or FN)
