She was at the beach and said she picked her phone up from her towel and it just didn't work. There are black and gray lines going up and down her phone

Remove the battery and cover and sim and sd card from the fone ... dry it out. Put the fone in a small plastic sealed container like a tupperware one ... and cover it with rice from an unopened packet ... put the lid on it and leave it for 24 hrs.

After 24hrs take it out of the rice and reassemble it ... then see if it works.

If the screen still does not work take it to a fone repair shop.
