My power supply cord was repaired incorrectly (reverse polarity)which fried the camera when connected. Is there a fuse or something inside which I can fix myself without spending $400 for Canon repair?

Reverse polarity will destroy the power supply and all solid state parts. It is WAY beyond a fuse replacement. If the fuse blows, the parts are already blown. Consider buying a new unit instead. Not usually worth servicing or repair.
