My HP 450 laptop hard disk is not starting at the PC startup.

My HP 450 laptop hard-disk not starting when connected to motherboard. I first thought that my hard-disk was damaged. But, when I connected it to SATA to USB connector it worked perfectly fine.

check in the bios to see if the drive is seen. also see if there is a time delay & if so to set it to zero.
