My HP laptop is not picking up my house WiFi

My HP laptop is not picking up my house WiFi but everything else does. This just happened last week. I received an email from my cable company telling me that I changed my wifi security to open which I didn't so I went in and changed it to secured and that's when I started having this problem.

Does it "see" the Wifi, but not connect? Or can you not "see" the network at all?"

I can not see my wifi name on the list but I can see other networks in the area.

Have you tried rebooting the router? Do any other devices in the home have a problem connecting?

Yes I rebooted the router. I even had the cable company try to help me. Everything else except for another cell phone can connect. I even reset my laptop to when I first brought it. I can use an ethernet and it will work but I never had to do that before. I had the laptop less than a year.
