My wireless internet doesn't work on my HP dv7 laptop also the sound slider on top of the keyboard isn't working my phone and tablet connect fine so internet problem is in the laptop

Did you "upgrade" to Windows 10? Check your drivers in device manager and compare them to the ones HP offers on their website for your model. HP's last driver updates will probably be about two years after your laptop came out, so there may not be specific compatible drivers for a new OS if that's the case. Also, if it's always been that way. make sure your router settings are setup for the proper type of wireless card you have. There may be a b/g/n configuration on your router and it's set to n only or b/g only and that could be why your phone and tablet will work but it won't. Not a guarantee, just something to check.
