My keyboard and touch screen on my Toshiba satellite E45t-A4300 quit working after I updated the software

After updating the software in my Toshiba Satellite E45t-A4300 I can not get the keys to work not alone the touch screen pad keys. I'm locked out. It won't let me even get into restoring.what do I do?

try going in safemode to do a system restore to before the updates or try the "last known good working configuration" in the safemode menu.

Did either of you contact Toshiba to find out if it's a known issue with some update and to see if there is a fix?
Was this a Toshiba update to drivers or software, or a Windows update, or something else? Does an external keyboard work?
