my laptop is now a desk top

I replaced a cracked screen on my Toshiba c55-b and it still only works with an external monitor tried everything except buying a new one I think I may have damaged the led cable how can I know for sure or could the new screen be a defect,im going to try to return it.i don't want a new laptop I have allmy automotive programs in this one.thanks for any help would be appreciated

Could this be a simple settings thing that sends the display to the external that hasn't changed back to normal since you replaced the screen?

You won't know until you replace the cable. They are only a few dollars on eBay so not a huge loss if it isn't the problem.

I replaced the cracked screen on my Toshiba c55-b laptop and it still only works with an external monitor. I tried powering it down ,and changing settings I may have damaged the led cable at the camera end ,would that affect the monitor too?im not sure what to do at this point,any help wold be appreciatted

ive tried fn key and f4 key together no luck. ive tried settings to change display and I get a red sentice that says no other screens avalible.it doesn't see my new screen.is it possible I damaged the led cable even though it looks ok

Good idea but I bet it's not easy to get at the other end of it though.
