My laptop is trying to open all applications via internet explorer

Hello,
my laptop has started asking for everything to be opened via internet explorer..which then doesnt do anything!!
This is since a 'Vista security alert' popped up and told me i had 52 viruses which i knew was wrong..I restarted my laptop and it hasnt been working since..

This is a Windows Vista issue and not a laptop problem.

I believe you have a rogue antivirus program on your computer as well, i would download a program called "removefakeantivirus" from http/www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/Remove-Fake-Antivirus.shtml.
Then use a program called superantispyware from http/www.superantispyware.com/

Hopefully this will remove it and remember to run the removefakeantivirus as an administrator to fully stop and delete the proccesses attached to the fake software.

I have seen about ~40 of these cases in the helpdesk i work at and i have fixed it by using those two programs.
