my laptop screen is showing negative and/or weird colors but only if there's a large ammount of white on the screen, external displays work fine, Color appears to be mostly normal if there's a large amount of Dark Blue on the screen. Pressure on the lower left side seems to do this as well, laptop model is an Acer E5-521 notebook. 1368 x 768 display at 15.6 inches (I believe)

Solution
You've proved the screen has gone West by connecting to another monitor so find a replacement screen on e-Bay, making sure it's for the precisely identical model.

Fitting is quite simple and needs a small Pozidrive or Phillips head screwdriver, a needle and a credit card. Practice the routine by removing the old one and do it before ordering the replacement because the details are on the back - LTN156 or similar. The needle is to remove the rubber plugs hiding the screws and the credit card is to very carefully pry the bezel away from the lid.

Start on one of the top corners and work your way around, hearing the clicks when the holding tangs let go.

On the back of the screen at the top, is usually a warning "do not touch"...
