My Moto E will not allow me listen to music stored on the external card

I have been trying to listen to music I downloaded to the external SD card, the music is on the card but I can;t get it to play, also is there an APP I can download to accomplish this?

Well it will depend on how you are trying to listen to it and what kind of files they are. It may well be they are file types that the device won't play. Or they could have been damaged or created incorrectly, so that they won't play.

Also, you would have to go into your music player app to change that apps settings to look for music on not only the device but also on the SD card.
