My SIM Number is not the Same on my Phone's Settings

My actual mobile number is not the same as the number that my phone displays in "about phone" it's not a phone problem as I have inserted a friend's sim and checked "about phone" in my settings folder and my friends actual number is displayed.. I've then put my sim back in and instead of my actual number being displayed it reads an incorrect number.. does anyone know why this is happening, is something dodgy going on?

I would guess the number on the SIM is not what you think it is. If you insert that into your friends phone, does it show the same wrong number or the one you think it should be?
