my toshiba laptops power button is blinking white led and wont turn on

My toshiba laptop has been blinking a white LED light every time I hit the power button. I can't find the battery. What do I do?

the battery is probably defective or not plugged in correctly

Have you tried to holding the power button down for 30 minutes or a bit longer try it with out lead and with lead plugged in hope you find your battery. Unplug all wires or peripherals. This includes CDs, DVDs, USB sticks, mice, printers, and any other accessories.Before you try. Hope you find your battery.
