i want to connect a keyboard and a much larger monitor to my laptop. it's a toshiba satellite a665. is this possible? if so, is any brand compatible?

Yes, you can connect an external keyboard and mouse to your laptop. Just make sure you have the right in/outputs on your laptop. Any brand with the right connector should be compatible.
