Hello,

I need some help choosing a laptop and here are the choices

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/hp-g6-1336sa-15-6-laptop-charcoal-12303695-pdt.html

AMD Quad-Core A6-3420M
- 1.5 GHz
- 2.4 GHz TurboBoost
- 1333 MHz
- 4 MB L2 cache memory
8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6520G Discrete-Class

AMD Quad-Core A8-3520M (1.6 GHz, 4 MB L2 cache)
6 GB (1 x 2 GB, 1 x 4 GB)
AMD Radeon HD 6620G 7450M Dual GPU 1 GB DDR3 dedicated

I'm just wondering if the difference in RAM would be noticeable for everyday use and casual gaming?

As one of them has the A6 but with 8GB of RAM while the A8 has 6GB of RAM.

Also, whether it would actually be better to get a i3 or i5 as I'm planning to use this laptop for at least the next 2 to 3 years

Thank you!

Hello dominic_cwy;

The 2GB RAM difference won't make a noticeable improvment in home office/home entertainment/gaming performance.

The A8 APU / HD 6620G & HD 7450 GPU is the better option.

What do you consider casual gaming?

Thanks for the quick reply. Casual gaming such as Warcraft 3 frozen throne which is a pretty old game but I'm trying to get a laptop that can support DoTA 2 when it comes out.

When are the Trinity APUs coming out? Seems tempting to wait it out since my laptop's still functioning. Which of the Trinity APUs would you reckon would be a good choice for me? Thinking that I'm still looking within this price range
