Hi Guys n Girls,i've been putting together a nice little sound system over the last year.....

Denon 3802 7.1 digital amp and receiver
2x wharfedale sapphire 85's
2x wharfedale modus two's
2x wharfedale valdus 200's
1x wharfedale diamond 10cc

and now 1x JVC THR1 140w powered subwoofer

all of these items have been purchased over time and added due to being on a very tight budget, and now i've eventually managed to get the finishing touch ie. the powered subwoofer,I am having problems connecting it to the Denon amp.
The subwoofer out on the amp is a single rca/phono plug

and the subwoofers only input is what I can only describe as a 8 pin mini din socket

is there any way to marry these up with the use of a gender bender/converter cable or some simple rewiring?
as ive been looking on the web and cant find anything that sounds right,I have it all working at the moment by using the optical out on the Denon to a crappy old amp and in turn to the subwoofer but this means 2x amps,2x remotes and independent volume control on the sub which is not ideal by any means and the Denon should give a much more superior feed to the subwoofer direct....

also just to mention I am not intending using any of the speaker outs from the subwoofer if that makes any difference for any simple rewiring.....

I would be so greatful for any help to resolve this issue,so thanks in advance.... :)

Hi
I had a panasonic subwoofer with a multiway plug and they do that because there are internal amplifiers for each speaker.
What I did when I was in a similar position was to open up the sub and identify the subwoofer amplifier by tracing the cable to the internal subwoofer speaker and from this could identify the input wires,I then connected my receiver sub output to these wires and it worked perfectly.
