Need help deciding between two Lenovo laptops

Hey I have been having a hard time deciding between these two equally priced laptops and need help. Please help me out, I am an engineering student in college and need a laptop for classes/games. Which of these is best?

If more meant for gaming, I would go with the Ideapad Z400, Most games need an DVD-ROM and the Ideapad U310 doesn't have a optical drive, the ideapad z400 is cleary faster !!

yeah that is very true I appreciate the response the only thing pulling me towards the u310 is that it is an ultrabook versus the standard desktop replacement nature of the z400. I am pretty sure the more sensible option is the z400 and that is what I have chosen thanks.
