I'm looking to buy a TV soon, not expensive but just something for blu-ray movies and xbox 360. I read a lot about how good Samsung and LG are but rarely anything on Toshiba (do Toshiba have bad life spans?). I read the reviews on all three and having a hard time deciding. If no one have tried any of these, then which brand would you recommend overall for reliability?

i would place sony, samsung and lg in the top tier, toshiba and other manufacturers in the middle and vizio and other cheap televisions in the bottom.

of course not every tv by those manufacturers is the same. they might move up or down a category for particular models.

we have a samsung un60eh6000fxza so i would expect the 6000 series of the 32" (suffixed by 6000 instead of 5000) to be good and of similar quality. i know some of the earlier panels used in the televisions were not as good (i'm only guessing that they were a different series such as 5000 but thats logical)

i would suggest viewing them in person if you can. if you cannot i would read reviews (specifically note any bad reviews) to help get an idea for how good the tv is.

Thanks for the advice. What has me worried about LG is that for the bad reviews, most everyone have the same thing in common. That is the TV keeps turning on or off at will.
