Question Need help in connecting Sony RT3 to Laptop

Hi,

Hope you are doing good!

I saw a post on the other thread on connecting RT3 to Laptop using HDMI Audio Extractor.
I have done the same, Laptop HDMI-->Audio Extractor-->(HDMI out)---> Monitor & (Optical SPDIF)----> RT3

But, I'm getting only FL and FR, all other channels are not coming in the audio. (Only Stereo sound)

Could you please help me in getting 5.1 sound in RT3 from my laptop?

Laptop - Lenovo Legion Y530
Monitor - Acer HA240Y
HT - Sony RT3

Does this audio extractor you are using work with surround sound? I am guessing you are using optical out from the extractor to the soundbar correct? Form your post is sounds like you are going to your monitor for some reason then to the soundbar.

Yes, the audio extractor has three modes (Pass, 2Ch and 5.1 CH). Below is the exact connection:

Laptop (HDMI) ---> HDMI Audio Extractor ----> HDMI out (from extractor)----> Monitor (Display purpose)
----> SPDIF Out (from extractor)----> RT3 optical slot.

But I'm getting only 2CH stereo from my laptop running with NVIDIA HD Sound driver (GTX-1050).
