Need help in diagnosing and identifying my Medion Erazer x7831 power issue

Hi guys

I've noticed my laptop power problems have been getting worse for a while now. I thought it might be the battery and I did a battery report http:// which shows its capacity to be quite far below its original capacity. However, I never use this laptop unless it's plugged in anyway. So I thought I could just use it without a battery. However, it dies (just switches off completely) quickly without a battery especially if I put it under load (playing a game etc.). Also, while the battery is in and it is plugged into the AC power supply it will be dodgy (brightness turns up and down and it says it isn't charging then begins to charge again). But it does work to an extent (can't play games too well) and it doesn't turn off for no reason like it does without the battery.

Would anyone have a better idea of where my problems lie or be able to tell me how I can go about diagnosing it? I don't want to have to shell out 50 odd quid on power supply and/or battery if I don't
need to as I am pretty penniless at the moment!

You can test your Power supply voltages with multimeter. Acutally i dont have any clue what Medion is, is it cheap laptop? Could be problems with internal power circuit.

Also go top bios from boot press del f1 f2 whatever the key is for medion. Look for bios version and EC version
if these are newer versions download and update look carefully instructions:
