The Wirecutter recommends the Sandisk Extreme line. It also has 2200 reviews, and gets 4.5 stars. It's just slightly above your budget at $34.
Card write speed is pretty important, as it affects your camera's performance. The faster an image or a video can be saved to the card, the sooner you're ready to take another shot.
The card isn't the only thing that affects speed, though. It also has to do with your camera.

In any case, i would definitely get a class 10 card. Look for a reputable name brand (Kingston, Crucial, Patriot, etc), find something with a high number of positive reviews (Amazon tends to have quite a lot), and preferably a lifetime warranty (which is not uncommon). I would not get a microSD card (like your first link), go for the full size SD.

As far as I know, HDMI can be used to play audio and video, but not to actually transfer files. I could be wrong, though, i've just never heard of a device that could do it. I would go for the card reader.

Hope that helps :)

Looks good to me.
Fancy features you might want but don't necessarily need are USB 3.0, for faster file transfer (if your computer has 3.0), and the ability to read other cards such as Compact Flash.
The one you linked will do the job just fine, though.
